This Week at the Humane Society – Toby

Boy have things been busy! This week I spent some time with Toby, a 5-year old American Bull Dog mix. Those who say dogs don’t smile clearly haven’t met Toby. Just look at that mug! 🙂 Not only was Toby smiling from ear to ear, but he loved the playground toys. Check it out 🙂

This week at the Humane Society- PB and J

Ok, not really PB&J but these two fun-loving siblings are the perfect pair- like PB&J or maybe PB&M (Marshmallow fluff) You get my drift.  Sebastian and Sabrina are 4 1/2 year old Shepherd Chow Chows. You can only adopt them together and after hanging out with them I could see why. They do OK with other dogs but prefer to play each other. They have lots of energy and have different ideas about playing.

Sebastian loves the water, and in a behind the scenes clip I’ll post later, you can see that he wanted me to share in the water fun too. Sabrina was not too keen on the water but had fun running around in the play area. They both were having such a fun time playing that they ran into me and almost knocked me over! Those squats at the gym have really been paying off. I had a blast hanging out with these two and hope you will pass the word along to anyone that might be interested.

This week at the Humane Society- Darling!

This week I spent some time with Darling, a 3 1/2 year old Terrier/American Pit Bull mix. Unfortunately, anytime someone says “Pit Bull” the first thought that pops into a person’s head is “dangerous.” I go back to what I believe and that is, it’s not the breed but how the dog was raised/treated by the owner. I hope people can put the Pit Bull stigma behind them because Darling was the sweetest and most caring dog I have had the pleasure of spending time with so far.

Darling came from Animal Services in labor and lost her babies during birth. Around that same time, Rottweiler puppies had lost their mom so calls were made to find a nursing dog for the Rottweiler puppies and because of the circumstances, Darling was available. Sadly, the Rottweiler puppies Darling was nursing died of Parvo, a highly contagious disease spread from dog to dog. Although she lost her own puppies and the Rottweiler puppies she was nursing, you would never be able to tell she suffered such loss because she’s so resilient, loving, kind and sweet as you can tell in the video. We can all learn something from Darling.

My day with Paige

This week I spent some time with Paige, a 2 year-old hound mix. I couldn’t stop staring at her eyes! They are strikingly light for a dog and really beautiful.

She was super playful and really loved to be brushed and pampered. She definitely had a lot of energy so to the family that adopts her (which I hope is soon!) you better have a big back yard and lots of energy.  🙂

Exciting Announcement

Hi there!

I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend as much as I am. You may be wondering who this beautiful dog is in my YouTube video below. Well, I’m officially volunteering at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay and will be featuring one dog a week in hopes of getting them adopted!

This week I had the opportunity to feature Bambi, a 3 year-old Labrador Retriever mix who is up for adoption at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay and I must say, the experience was incredible. The video tells you all about Bambi but I wanted to elaborate about my experience a bit here.

Bambi has been at the Human Society for more than 30 days and I have to say, any family would be lucky to have her as she really is the total package. When we walked up to her kennel, she was patient and very easy to leash. She was also a pleasure to walk and had the best disposition. Did I mention she also follows commands like sit, stay, come and gives both paws? I had the best time watching her play outside and I know she would bring such joy to any family she joins. I didn’t want to say goodbye, but my wish is that when I go back next week, someone will have already adopted her.

If you or anyone you know might be interested in adopting Bambi you can contact:
